I think lithium batteries are well worth it for this application and for use in things like instant read thermometers, etc.

Great opportunity to get an EX4 and register with warranty (at least for what that proves to be worth). So many great and bad things said about one grill:unsure:; it has to be one of the most controversial models Weber has ever made. I know I still would love to cook on one.

That’s true for the 1st generation Summit, but those special tall flavorizer bars for the 2000-2004 Platinums and Golds are a pretty tough find, at least in my looking.
