I am thinking that they may think that since the metal is so thick on the Huntsman vs the Weber kettle you should just bank the coals against the side of the grill for indirect or creating a hot spot. Also the vertical vs concave sides may also be helpful. Just thoughts

I did not understand why Tom said that SNS will not work. How can it not?

The E/S6 is most likely more efficient but I do wonder by how much. This is not an offset where the separate fire box has 6 exposed sides. The heat will be absorbed by all that metal and help keep temps. Also with the Viper PID attached it should also help I would think. It would be...

Wow - Very impressed with how thick that steel is, how tight the seals are, and that 304 stainless grate, and wish he knew that the accessory holder was for the rotisserie;-) For low and slow he could have demonstrated any of the dozen ones he had or made.

    It's pizza time!!!

So funny - I grew up in Bergen County NJ. Whenever I plan on getting to that area I make sure the freezer has room and bring a large trash bag to bring home a Crave Case, and a dozen bagels. Also plan for a pizza at LA Bella Roma Pizzeria in Paramus.

Coffee Beans what's in your grinder ???

Tried this one from Aldi today. Comes in a tightly vacuumed brick good for a year. Quite good for ground coffee. We made some in the Moka pot and drip.

    WSM 18" long cooks

Personally I always lined my pan with foil and always just used water. I sprayed with 1/2 ACV 1/2 water but I am not sure if spraying makes a large difference or not and I am sure there are different opinions.

I agree with you. I almost went for the Spider 22 but went with the Smokefire EX4 and decided pellets were not for me. I see the appeal of pellets, being it is the first and until more recently the only grill that worked like an oven that could turn anyone into a master griller / pitmaster.

That is a very nicely stacked snake! I wish B+B were available a less expensive price here in VA as I have never seen it for under $1lb, mostly quite a bit more. Even the sales at Walmart to not apply here for some reason. I think maybe a shipping thing as the sales usually apply to more...

    WSM 18" long cooks

Just a side note. I always did as Jim and Chris suggested and used a full ring when using my WSM. I almost always had coals left over to re-use after snuffing. Using the water pan really is fantastic for keeping temps of 225-235 with almost no effort, but does use more fuel. The only times I...

Mike - That is an interesting take "customer service has been great} why did you have to contact them?" Fritz - Why did you have to deal with Spider's Customer Support out of curiosity?

I will just leave this here

But they are always out of date and a lot of places do not like filling them. Also $40 in gas to get it. If I still lived in Richmond I probably would have contacted them already;-)

This SSP popped up about 90 miles from me. A little too far but could be worth it to the right person. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1203802167447436/?ref=saved&referral_code=null

There is a great thread on a SSP total refurb. Looked better than new when done. I've also lusted after a nice one from time to time. I had a Performer but really wanted an SSP. Not much of a need for one now but.....

Just to be sure you may want to try 5° lower to see what happens. What temp have you been brewing at?
