    HM 4.2.4 3D Printed Case

Does anyone happen to have an STL of the HM 4.2 control knob (one switch)?

    Sous Vide Setup

I've been watching for sales on the Anova but it's still too much(over $200 CAD) and I love the idea of the HM doing double duty. How is the Sous vide going so far? Any downside to the slow cooker being operated the way it does with the HM?

    Heatermeter on battery success!

For those looking for potential battery options. This one is on sale right now, $24.99 plus $6 off with code: N259Y7P8 making it $18.99. Pick up a couple of filler items to get free shipping. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00S0OHKII/ 10400mAH and can output 12V @ 1.35A It's pretty compact but...

Considering a HeaterMeter, but I'm confused about the probes

I am in the same boat as well, I ordered with the thermocouple but I think the next one I build will be without it. However, I have been looking at some of the other threads about using the HM for sous vide. This might be where the thermocouple can shine, I picked up a thermocouple probe for...

    Wifi help - Realtek RTL8191SU

Thanks Bryan, wanted to see if there was an easy fix but to your point I'll just have to buy a new dongle. In the future, perhaps I will learn some programming to open up my options.

    Wifi help - Realtek RTL8191SU

Hi guys, Building my HM 4.2.4 with Rpi Model B. Everything works except for the wifi. I am trying to use an old Patriot wifi usb dongle but am having trouble. It doesn't seem to get recognized by OpenWRT. I figured this could be because the drivers aren't loaded. I installed Raspbian Wheezy on...

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.2.4

Even on Kijiji, the cheapest I've found the model b is around $50CAD. Definitely a good deal if you are missing the raspberry and wanting to build the kit.

    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.2.4

Long time lurker but finally pulled the trigger when Bryan included the option for the Raspberry with the kit. I was a bit tentative purchasing an A+ since the B seems to be completely unavailable in Toronto. Even Kijiji didn't give me much options. Thanks Bryan, looking forward to playing...

    Operational temperature

Gotcha, make sense now. You could go one step further and purchase shielded CAT5 or CAT6 cable for the ground reference but I think this is not ideal from the previous posts in the forums.

    Operational temperature

Do you create essentially an extension cable with the CAT6 cable? One end with a male plug and the other end with a female? Or is there another way?

    Operational temperature

Interesting, the length of cable doesn't affect the readings you get from the probes?
