Even on Kijiji, the cheapest I've found the model b is around $50CAD. Definitely a good deal if you are missing the raspberry and wanting to build the kit.

Gotcha, make sense now. You could go one step further and purchase shielded CAT5 or CAT6 cable for the ground reference but I think this is not ideal from the previous posts in the forums.

Do you create essentially an extension cable with the CAT6 cable? One end with a male plug and the other end with a female? Or is there another way?

Interesting, the length of cable doesn't affect the readings you get from the probes?
